(UPDATED: January 2010) There is some confusion about when Bay area prize money will be sent out. Prize money for large areas (60+ participating venues, $5,000+ cash prizes) is sent within 90 days from the date of the finals, however, some prize money for the Bay area will be sent earlier and will begin being sent the first week of February 2010. Prize money for smaller areas (normally $2,000 in cash prizes) normally gets paid on the day of the finals. Last year's Bay area contest was divided into 3 smaller contests/areas ($2,000 each area) and THOSE winners were paid on the day of the finals.
